About Us

The Norwich Lions Club honors and is honored to be a club that has provided seven District Governors, far more than any other club in the district. The Past District Governors from Norwich are: T. Joseph Puza in 1951, Alexander Abraham in 1958, William F. O’Neil, Jr. in 1962, Alfio Urbinati in 1967, Mario Gualtieri in 1978, John J. Connor, PCC who served from 1999- 2000 and Joel Ragovin in 1995. Past District Governor Alfio Urbinati went on to work with Lions International and was responsible in the forming of 226 clubs throughout New England.

In order to meet the financial demands of serving our community, we have sponsored a variety of fundraising activities. Annually, we sponsor Journey for Sight participants, pancake breakfasts, tag sales and a cocoa contest

In the seven decades of our proud history, the Norwich Lions Club has striven to work for the betterment of the community and to assist those in need.

The Norwich Lions Club holds its regular meeting on the second Tuesday of the month.  During the meeting, club members report on their activities.  We discuss requests for assistance, upcoming projects, and address issues that are important to the community and/or Lionism

Our success has been realized because of the hard work of our members and the generous support from the people of Norwich.
Whenever a Lions club gets together, problems get smaller. And communities get better.

We are grateful for your support!
